Holy Trinity Southall

A community seeking to worship God follow Jesus and live the Gospel

Mission Action Plan

PRINCIPLES
Our aspirations are set out in our strapline: “A community seeking to worship God, follow Jesus and live the Gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit”.

We rejoice in being a part of the Southall Group Ministry and in our partnership with the Ealing Trinity Circuit of the Methodist Church, and we are committed to playing our part in the wider mission of the church in Southall.

Our parish MAP for 2017-2020 builds on that for 2014-2017, within the context of Capital Vision 2020. It sets out what we believe to be God’s call to us at Holy Trinity at this particular time.

PRIORITIES FOR THE THREE YEARS 2017-2020

1.  PROMOTE THE GROWTH OF HOLY TRINITY CHIRCH IN DEPTH AND IN NUMBERS

v    Be intentional about making the main focus of our MAP for the next three years the growth of our church in depth and numbers, making the most of the opportunities afforded to us through taking part in a Church Growth Learning Community

v    Be ready as individuals and as a church to embrace change and step out in the boldness of the Spirit in order to grow in Christ and be fruitful for Christ

2.   DEVELOP CORPORATE WORSHIP AND PRAYER

v     Increase the opportunities for corporate prayer, including regular Prayer Vigils in church,
the use of Prayer Stations, and Prayer Walks on the streets of the parish

v     Grow the congregation of ‘Inspire’, our monthly Sunday evening worship

3.  ENCOURAGE AND RESOURCE DISCIPLES NEW AND OLD
IN THEIR CONTINUING GROWTH IN CHRIST

v     Offer Nurture courses for new disciples on an annual basis

v    Provide new ways to promote learning together to enable deeper discipleship,
including Holy Trinity Film Nights and a Book Group

4.  SUSTAIN WHOLE-LIFE DISCIPLESHIP

v    Continue to encourage and support church members as ambassadors for Christ in daily life

v    Actively encourage the Cursillo movement as a part of the life of the church here

5. FURTHER DEVELOP OUR WORK WITH CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

v     Further develop All-Age Worship, including exploring Messy Church (once the church building has been made more suitable for this)

v     Consider admitting children to communion before confirmation

6.  SERVE THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WITH THE LOVE OF GOD THE FATHER

v     Continue our active support for the work of Hope for Southall Street Homeless

v     Aim towards reviving the Salaamati Project, contributing to the health, wholeness and well-being of local people

7.  ADAPT OUR CHURCH BUILDING AS A RESOURCE FOR WORSHIP AND MISSION

v     To enable us to deliver the above, to have completed at least the first phase of the reordering and refurbishment of the church building
